Conemaugh
Township Recreation Commission
The
Conemaugh Township Recreation Commission is a group of township residents
appointed by the township supervisors to plan and implement recreational
facilities for the township. The Commission is currently working in conjunction
with the Conemaugh Valley School District to implement a recreation complex
for residents at the site of the Conemaugh Valley Elementary School on
Frankstown road. Pictured above is the ballfield and tots playground just
finished. 3 Volleyball courts are nearing completion behind the ballfield.
Additional plans for the site include; soccer/football field, basketball
courts, walking track and a nature trail.
The Recreation Commission is also a partner in the efforts of the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority in developing the Path of the Flood Trail and Mainline Trail, major parts of which are located in the township along the Little Conemaugh River.
